A beautiful still life full of light and interest. The composition is intelligent and balanced taking advantage of the different reflective surfaces. Ray has executed this subject deftly with lively brush strokes and controlled looseness. His pallet is warm and harmonious with accurate tones making this painting sing.

It Hao has established himself as a major water colour artist over a range of different subject matter and disciplines. This painting demonstrates It Haos’ masterful drafting skills, expert control and mastery of tone. He captures the mood of light in dramatic contrast in the main focal point to dark shadows with sprinkles of highlights.

Jo-Anne has presented a delightful pastel executed with confidence and obvious command of the medium and her subject matter. This rural farm scene has so many interesting areas to explore from the sunlit homestead in the distance to the shadowed foreground. Jo-Anne’s has attention to detail in the positioning of the sheep guide the viewers eye towards the front where you discover dried thistles which provide authenticity and interest to the scene.

Alenjandro is obviously a very experienced and talented artist who demonstrates expert control of this discipline. The pencil work is delicate and his understanding of anatomy and pose come together to create this wonderful rear female nude. Alenjandro has achieved the effect of shine on human skin through his careful use of tone.

For a little painting this work certainly packs a punch with it’s gutsy thick paint strokes and rich, warm pallet. The artist draws your attention to the sunlit lit alter bathed in rich gold with suggestions of interest without too much detail.
